Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference considers Peace Network

Conrad Grebel University College hosted academics, practitioners, artists and church workers at the inaugural Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference and Festival, June 9–12, 2016. In Waterloo, Ont., 203 people from 20 countries (from Canada to Colombia to DR Congo) attended 30 concurrent sessions.

Editor and director of MC Canada Indigenous relations Steve Heinrichs has done an incredible job of assembling works by 40 authors from diverse backgrounds to explore how churches can engage the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People.

On a rainy day some years ago when I was working as a youth pastor, I drove 30 minutes to a high school in a neighbouring city to meet a student for lunch.
