Friesen appointed to MCC Manitoba

Picture
Daniel Friesen has been appointed the new executive director of MCC Manitoba. Friesen grew up in Afghanistan where his parents were missionaries with Mennonite Brethren Missions and Services International. Since then he has developed vocational training programs in Lebanon and specialized in solar energy development. He has also worked with Christian Reformed World Relief Committee to develop business opportunities for the Navajo Nation in New Mexico and the entire southwest United States. Friesen sees lots of potential room for growth in MCC Manitoba’s programs. His introduction of weekly staff prayer meetings demonstrates his commitment to trying to keep a clear understanding of priorities. “Prayer doesn’t precede the work. It is the work,” he says. Friesen is married to Helen. They have four children, Andrew, 13, Emily, 12, David, 7 and Timothy, 2.
