Abbotsford, B.C. The event is being held in conjunction with the Canadian MB Conference convention.

The session, which will run from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., is open to all. Cordeiro will focus on effective team building, multiplying leadership teams and fulfilling the Great Commission through church planting.

Cordeiro is the founding pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship, a Foursquare church in Oahu, Hawaii. Begun in 1995, New Hope has grown from a few people to nearly 8000 weekend attendees, with 5800 new converts. The church has planted 50 churches along the Pacific Rim, including the US mainland, Hawaii, Samoa, the Philippines, Myanmar and Japan, as well as in Finland. The church sponsors New Hope International, a leadership training and church planting ministry. The ministry’s Web site features many leadership resources such as “Mentoring at a Distance”.

Originally from Hawaii, Cordeiro graduated from Eugene (Ore.) Bible College and did post-graduate work at Northwest Christian College and the University of Oregon. He also served with Youth for Christ for seven years and was a pastor at Faith Center Foursquare Church in Eugene for three years. He is the author of several books including Doing Church as a Team. His latest books, The Dream Releasers and De-structuring the Church, are to be released in spring 2002.

Cost for the session is $20, including tax. Preregistration is recommended. Tickets will also be available at the door. For more information, or to register, contact the Board of Evangelism, 169 Riverton Ave., Winnipeg, Man. R2L 2E5, phone (204) 669-6580 or e-mail.
