Events included a Friday memories night and a community open house on Saturday. The foyer was filled with pictures and memorabilia from the past 25 years. As part of the anniversary year, the church sponsored and built a house through Habitat for Humanity. A video documenting the July Habitat project was shown for the first time at the open house. A Saturday night banquet featured music from the past 25 years.

A highlight of the weekend was a combined worship service under the theme “McIvor  Past, Present, Future: God’s Good Work in Progress”. Founding pastor Allan Labun spoke about the past as a good beginning. Current pastor Doug Enns asked the question, “What guides our present?” University student Anita Penner highlighted the future by reminding the congregation that change is dynamic but God is static. “God will be our energy source and foundation for the future” she said.

McIvor Ave. MB Church is the daughter church of North Kildonan MB Church.
