Anne Jones has resigned as pastor of womens ministries at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C., effective June 1, after serving for six years. She previously worked as a nurse for about five years. She has an R.N. from University College Hospital in London, England and a Master of Theological Studies (Counselling) from Trinity Western Seminary. She and her husband Tony have three grown children and three grandchildren. She is open to further ministry.
Barry Adams completed his ministry as associate pastor of church ministries at Westview Christian Fellowship in St. Catharines, Ont. in September, after serving for three years. He resigned in order to devote his time more fully to Fathers Heart Communications. This ministry produces the Fathers Love Letter (www.fathersloveletter.com), which introduces people to the love of God through Christ. Previously, Adams was director of sales and marketing at the St. Catharines Standard for 19 years. He and his wife Annelise have three children, Kristen, 16, Stephen, 14, and Candice, 11.
Paul Wegenast completed his ministry as pastor of student ministries at South Abbotsford MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C., on Feb. 28, after serving for three years. Previously, he was the regional director for student ministries for the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches, based in Langley, B.C., for three-and-a-half years; was youth pastor at Sonrise Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Ore. for four years; worked with CityTeam Ministries in San Jose, Calif. for half a year; and spent three summers working at Green Oak Ranch in Los Angeles. He has a B.A. from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. He and his wife Corey have four children, Jared, 8, Keziah, 6, Logan, 4, and McKenzie, 3. The Wegenasts are seeking the Lords direction for the future.

On Nov. 20, Vidya Narimalla, pastor of New Covenant Christian Fellowship in Toronto, was given the Pastor of the Year award at the annual Christmas dinner and awards night of the Canadian Council of South Asian Christians and South Asian Evangelical Christian Fellowship. Narimalla was chosen as recipient of this award because he has been one of the main supporters of the Council, assisting in its establishment in 1994. He also was the coordinator for the first conference of South Asian pastors in Toronto. He has been involved with international development through his membership on the Board of Mennonite Central Committee. The Canadian Council of South Asian Christians promotes dialogue with other South Asian organizations and faith communities and encourages members to become involved in humanitarian activities in Canada and South Asian countries. The Councils president, Mrs. Suhansi Shah, is a member of New Covenant Christian Fellowship.
Crestwood MB Church in Medicine Hat, Alta. held a commissioning service Jan. 14 for its new part-time youth ministries coordinator, Janet Unruh. She is a recent graduate of Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, Sask. Previously, she was a youth sponsor in Foam Lake, Sask., and was a camp counsellor at Fisher Bay Bible Camp.

Portage Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg held an outreach dessert night Feb. 8 with guest speaker Paul Henderson of Toronto. Henderson is best known for scoring the winning goal in the Canada-Soviet Union hockey series in 1972. During the dessert night, a number of individuals prayed with Henderson to receive Christ or expressed an interest in knowing more about Him. Dave Heinrichs, associate pastor, presented Henderson with a homemade hockey game made by Jake Suderman.
Twenty-five people participated in an orientation at Mennonite Central Committee headquarters in Akron, Pa. Jan. 23-Feb. 2. Ten are beginning overseas assignments, and 15 are beginning assignments in North America. Marthinus (Ronnie) Van Wyk of Chilliwack, B.C. is beginning a three-year assignment as employment development director in Abbotsford, B.C. Previously, he was a management researcher for Technical University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. He has a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Port Elizabeth. He and his wife Anita attend Chilliwack Central MB Church and have a son, Christiaan.
Graham and Lisa Beer began serving as youth pastor couple at Leamington (Ont.) MB Church on Feb. 27. Previously, he was associate pastor of a Congregational church in Kincarden, Ont. for four years. He has a B.Th. from Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ont. They have a son, Keegan, 1.
Walter Unger, on behalf of Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., accepted the 1999-2000 Enrollment Growth Award presented by Christianity Today at the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges annual meeting Feb. 15-17 in Atlanta, Ga. In addition to the plaque, the College received a gift of $250 US for its library. Columbia achieved a 31.82% enrollment growth in the 2000 school year, the highest in the North American Bible College quadrant of schools in the 200 to 399 full-time-equivalent range.
McIvor Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg held an old-fashioned Ausruf (auction sale) Mar. 3, raising almost $10,000 for this summers 25th anniversary community project. The congregation has taken on the responsibility of building one house through Habitat for Humanity. The financial goal is $60,000. Proceeds from the Ausruf will be added to the $40,000 raised thus far. The auction was well attended and proved to be an enjoyable evening for all ages.
