Winnipeg, Man.
Conference treasurer retires

Picture
Jake Neufeld, Canadian MB Conference treasurer, has announced his intention to retire from his ministry, effective April 30, 2001. The announcement was made at the Council of Boards meeting on January 27 in Winnipeg.

Neufeld has served as Conference treasurer since May 1987, when he took over from J.J. Reidiger. During Neufeld’s tenure, the stewardship division grew from $11 million to $47 million. The stewardship division invests funds received from churches/provincial conferences and individuals, and in turn lends these funds to congregations for capital projects and to church employees for first-time mortgages. Neufeld also managed the Canadian MB Conference budget and a full benefit package for church employees across Canada.
