Terence Hoorman began serving as full-time youth pastor at McIvor Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg March 1, while continuing part-time studies at Providence College. He has served as a youth sponsor in the church for the past few years. Previously, he was a chef, most recently training chefs at the Aboriginal Centre in Winnipeg for three years. He has also been a singer and drummer in the local Christian band Cough for five years. He is married to Mia, who is completing her B.Ed.



Ebenezer Rajeevar has been serving as a pastoral intern at New Covenant Christian Fellowship in Toronto since November through the Ontario MB Conference Board of Faith and Life. Rajeevar has worked for eight years with Youth For Christ in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is currently on a two-and-a-half-year leave from that agency. He is studying at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto. He is serving the church in the area of worship and teaches senior high Sunday school. He is also starting a youth group in the church. He is an engineer by profession. He and his wife Kirija have a daughter, Eshani.

Roger Helland began serving as 3/4-time senior associate pastor at Garden Valley Community Church in Kelowna, B.C., March 5. Previously, he was pastor for seven years at New Life Vineyard Church in Kelowna, taught for six years at Okanagan Bible College in Kelowna, was interim pastor for three months at Calvary Baptist Church in Killarney, Man., and was a pastoral intern for five months at Olivet Baptist Church in New Westminster, B.C. He is also serving 1/4-time as a consultant and coach with The International Centre for Leadership Development and Evangelism in Winfield, B.C. He has written numerous articles for Christian magazines and is the author of three books: Let the River Flow (Harper Collins & Bridge-Logos, 1996), The Revived Church (Sovereign World & Renew, 1998), and The Journey: Walking with God, which is expected to be published soon. He has a B.Th. from Vancouver Bible College and an M.Th. from Dallas Theological Seminary and has pursued doctoral studies for one year at McGill University. He and his wife Gail have three children, Melissa, 15, Joel, 13, and Micah, 11.

Daniel and Christine Williams have been serving as youth pastor couple at Niverville (Man.) MB Church since August 1, 1999, ministering to both youth and college and career. For the past three years, they were senior high youth sponsors and group study leaders at the church. He worked for three years at Loewen Windows in Steinbach, Man. Dan grew up in Sweden, where his parents served with Greater Europe Mission. He also served with GEM for one year in Latvia. He has a B.R.E. from Prairie Bible College, Three Hills, Alta. Christine, a native of Bemidji, Minn., has a diploma in biblical studies from Prairie. They have two sons, Ethan, 3, and Benjamin, 11 months.



Ed Willms has resigned as associate pastor at Scott Street MB Church in St. Catharines, Ont., effective June 30, after serving for four-and-a-half years. Previously, he was senior pastor for three years and associate pastor for four years at Cornerstone Community Church in Dartmouth, N.S. He has a B.R.S. from MB Biblical Seminary, Fresno, Calif. He and his wife Karin have three children, Kiersten, 12, Renee, 9, and Breanna, 5. They are open to further ministry.

Don Nielsen began serving a pastoral internship in the areas of worship and youth at Murrayville Community Church, Langley, B.C., Mar. 1 under the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program. Previously, he was a volunteer worship leader in North Langley MB Church, his home church. He also ran his own contracting business. He is studying at Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, B.C., and is married to Elizabeth.

Port Rowan (Ont.) MB Church held a commissioning service for senior pastor couple Sandy and Muriel Young April 2. Guest speaker Henry Regier, pastor of Leamington (Ont.) MB Church, spoke on 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. The commissioning service was led by Rudy Bartel, Ontario MB Conference minister. Prayers of dedication were said by church moderator Jake Teigrob, associate pastor Randy Dueck and Bartel. A fellowship lunch followed the service. In June 1999 Jim Turner completed a one-year pastoral internship under the Ontario MB Conference Board of Faith and Life ministering to youth at Niagara Falls (Ont.) Christian Fellowship. He is currently serving a youth internship at Youth for Christ in St. Catharines, Ont. He and his wife Krista have three children, Alexandria, Cameron and Jacob.



Les Hambly began serving a one-year pastoral internship in the areas of worhsip and youth at Niagara Falls (Ont.) Christian Fellowship in September 1999 through the Ontario MB Conference Board of Faith and Life. He is also studying at Tyndale College in Toronto. His wife Tammy teaches in a preschool at the church. They are expecting their first child at the end of April.
