Dana are moving to Saskatoon at the end of April, in part, to be closer to their extended family. A second child is expected in early May. Fred plans to continue a contract graphic design business in Saskatoon.

Fred has served the Herald and Rundschau for 11 years. During that time, he has also served as designer for various MB Conferences and agencies. His work at the Herald has earned much praise from readers and recognition from his peers. Fred has won awards from the Canadian Church Press, as well as from the Evangelical Press Association for his design of the Herald.

Herald editor Jim Coggins says, “We are going to miss Fred immensely. He has been God’s gift to us. He is not only an outstanding, talented layout artist, he is also a deeply spiritual man. He would make the layout serve the message. I would explain what we were trying to get across in an issue and Fred would often amaze me with how much he could express of it through the design alone. I could safely leave design in his hands without having to worry how it would turn out. It must often have been frustrating for an artist to live under the tight deadlines and tight budgets of the Herald, but Fred always produced high quality work and on time. We have been blessed that Fred devoted so many years of sacrificial service to God and the MB Conference. We wish him God’s blessing in his new endeavours.” Managing editor Susan Brandt adds, “It was a pleasure to work with Fred. Besides his artistic abilities and deep commitment to the Lord and the Conference, he has been a valued colleague and a good friend. We will all miss him.”

Look for an announcement for Fred’s replacement in an upcoming issue.
