Main Centre (Sask.) MB Church celebrated its 95th anniversary together with its annual Thanksgiving service Oct. 31. It was a service of praise and thanksgiving to God for the history and heritage of the church. The choir sang a package of English and German songs. A brief history of the church since its beginning in 1904 was given.

Speaker Peter Block entitled his message Remembering. He said, Christian faith is built on historic events that actually happened, and we believe in a God who came into time and space to reveal Himself to us, to redeem us, and who continues to work in this world. Remember the acts of God to spur us on to holy living, to commitment, to faithfulness and to trust in Him. Today is a time to remember the 95 years of history of the church. Also, being Thanksgiving, it is a time to remember the past year.

Block concluded with the challenge: As we remember, lets allow that gratitude to spill over into a life of service and ministry in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many visitors and friends took in a time of fellowship at the noon meal. In the afternoon, Block and his wife Arlene, showed a slide presentation and told of their work in Nepal. Special music was provided by the male choir. Iris Siemens
