Man-Ark is an 18-hole miniature golf course in Du Quoin, Ill., designed around biblical themes. Created by two Christian couples, the course includes holes such as “Garden of Eden,” “Tower of Babel,” “Noah’s Ark” and “Jacob’s ladder.”



“Faces of Courage” and “Remember, Dad”? are the names of two exhibits the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery in Winnipeg will be showcasing Nov. 6-Dec. 31 by artists Betty Smith and Lorlie Barkman. Smith is a breast cancer survivor who has painted a series of portraits of women coping with breast cancer. Barkman, former pastor of Westwood Community Church in Winnipeg, has completed a series of cartoons reflecting the life of his father who had Alzheimer’s. Garden in the Wilderness: Mennonite Communities in the Paraguayan Chaco, 1927-1997 is a new book by Edgar Stoesz and Muriel T. Stackley. The 220-page book tells the story of 70 years of Mennonites in the Chaco region. The book also provides an overview of the region’s economics, education, church, service and mission. It is illustrated with 250 photos, maps and charts. It costs $32 and is available from Mennonite Books in Winnipeg, House of James in Abbotsford, B.C., and CMBC Publications, Winnipeg.  – CMBC Publications



“Talking Together as Christians about Homosexuality” is a new resource, including a 75-page book, a leader’s guide and two 90-minute videos. One of the tapes includes opposing views on the issue. Produced by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the guide is designed to help churches conduct organized discussions about homosexuality.  – Evangelical Press News Service



Look out Beanie Baby collectors. The latest craze is from ProTech Products of Walnut, Calif., that has created its own line of bean-bag animals based on Bible stories. “Angelic Beans,” which sell for about $10 US, have nearly 600 retailers and distributors worldwide.  – EPNS
