Brandon, Man.
CPE team preaches the gospel in Ukraine

In May 1999, Church Partnership Evangelism conducted a campaign in Ukraine in which 18 North Americans participated and over 1,000 accepted Christ, and a church baptized 40 new members.

Two people who had immigrated from Ukraine were baptized in a church in Winnipeg. One of them, a former atheist, testified how his talk with a Canadian through the aid of an interpreter was the beginning of his quest for God.

After visiting an orphanage, team member Ella Federau noticed a soup kitchen next door where people waited for a small bowl of porridge and a slice of bread. Because Federau could speak the language, she shared her testimony. Eleven women accepted Christ. Federau’s partner, a pastor who had spent 10 years in prison for his faith, took the opportunity to preach.

Lydia Klassen, a team member from Brandon, Man., spent two days with an enthusiastic young engineering student. In a hospital they visited, four patients and the supervising nurse accepted Christ.

From a report by Lydia Klassen.
