POEM
Through God’s eyes

Rhonda Renninger

If we viewed ourselves through God’s eyes,
Could we stand the sight of our sins?
Would we be so quick to judge others
When we realized the shape that we’re in?

Might it serve to stir us to action
To see the extent of our greed,
And how we’ve so sadly neglected
Helping others so badly in need?

Would it be enough to convict us
To change the way that we live,
Acknowledging our need for the Saviour
And the healing only Jesus can give?

Furthermore, what are the chances,
With all the corruption we’d face,
We’d be able to love with His Passion,
Offering redemption through Mercy and Grace?

As I carefully consider these questions,
There’s one thing I know to be true:
It’s a far greater Love than we’ll find here on Earth
That continues to love me and you.

Rhonda Renninger lives in Wellsville, PA.
