Michael Young has resigned as senior pastor of Cariboo Bethel Church in Williams Lake, B.C., effective Nov. 30, after serving for over nine years. Previously, he served in Christian day camps under Manitoba MB Conference Missions and Church Extension in The Pas, Man. for seven years, was church planter at South Park MB Church in Altona. Man. for seven years, and then was church planter at Riverview Bible Church in Moncton, N.B. for five years. He has a B.R.E. from Providence College in Otterburne, Man., has an M.Min. from Providence Seminary and is working toward a doctorate in Practical Ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs, Colo. He and his wife Shirley have two daughters: Carolee (and Luke) Stevenson, who is expecting her first child, and Johanna, who married Ryan Rudechuk, youth pastor at Cariboo Bethel, on Sept. 14.



Morris McKenzie completed his ministry as pastor of evangelism at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C. on May 8. He had originally come to the church in 1995 as pastor for singles’, men’s and Christian education ministry. He had previously served for seven years as youth and family pastor at Westminster Gospel Church, a Plymouth Brethren congregation in Burnaby, B.C. He has studied at Associated Canadian Theological Seminaries in Langley, B.C. He and his wife Mary have three children, Meghan, 16, Matthew, 14, and Michelle, 12, and are in the process of adopting an 11-year-old Haitian girl, Nadege. On Sept. 1, he began serving as associate pastor at Pacific Community Church, a Christian and Missionary Alliance congregation in Cloverdale, B.C.; he will become senior pastor there Jan. 1.



Robert Dyck began serving as senior pastor of Arnold Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C. on Oct. 16. He previously served as associate pastor of Gospel Fellowship Church in Kelowna, B.C. for six-and-a-half years and as interim associate pastor at Willow Park Church in Kelowna from May to August, 2002. He has a B.A. from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. and an M.Div from Canadian Baptist Seminary/Associated Canadian Theological Schools in Langley, B.C. His wife Leanne has a certificate in biblical studies from Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alta. and a B.A. in psychology from Okanagan University College and has a long-term goal to pursue doctoral studies in social psychology. The Dycks have one daughter, Adriana, 11 months.



Lam Siu Ling (Amy Lam) began serving as associate pastor at Tri-City Chinese Christian Church in Coquitlam, B.C. in May. She earned a B.A. from Bethel Seminary in Hong Kong in 1985, then pastored an Alliance Church for four years and a Baptist Church for two years. After she married Lam Man Fung, they pastored together in Hong Kong for several years. In August 2000, they came to Canada and Man Fung became senior pastor of the Tri-City Church. He passed away of cancer March 26, 2002. The Lams have two children, Jonathan, 12, and Joyce, 10.



Paul Woods began serving as an associate pastor at Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C. on Oct. 1. He will be working with people aged 40–65 as part of a revamped adult ministry team. He was in business in Ontario for a number of years before earning a B.A. in church ministries from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. He served as a Stewardship Ministries representative for the Canadian MB Conference, based in Abbotsford, B.C. 1994–99 and for the last three years has been working in business in Abbotsford. He and his wife Melodie have three grown sons.

On May 15, Matthew Janzen began serving as part-time intern college and career pastor, a new position, at North Langley Community Church in Langley, B.C. He will move to full-time, effective Jan. 1, 2003, with financial assistance for a year coming from the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program. He previously attended Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C. for 21 years, where he served as deacon for the singles ministry Gateway for three years. He studied for a year at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., studied toward a B.Ed. at Langara College in Vancouver, and is currently working toward an M.Div. at MB Biblical Seminary/Associated Canadian Theological Schools in Langley.



Rolven Wai Doo has been serving as assistant English ministries pastor at Port Moody (B.C.) Pacific Grace Chinese Church since May 6. He has a B.A. in theology from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. and a Master of Counselling degree from Associated Canadian Theological Schools in Langley, B.C. He has worked for quite a number of years as a family therapist with different social service agencies in B.C.’s Lower Mainland and has served for two-and-a-half years as a part-time intern youth worker at Pacific Grace MB Church in Vancouver.



Mable Law began serving as a pastor-in-training at South Vancouver Pacific Grace MB Church in May. She earned a B.A. from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and taught primary school in Hong Kong before coming to Vancouver and earning a Master of Christian Studies degree from Regent College. Her husband Antony Law began serving as missions and outreach pastor at the same church in October. He earned a B.A. in industrial design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and worked in that field in Hong Kong. He has just completed his M.Div. at Regent College. The Laws are expecting their first child.
