The book Sexual Abuse in Christian Homes and in Churches by Carolyn Holdrread Heggen has been adapted for Latin American readers. Published by the Center of Anabaptist Resources in Latin America (CLARA), based in Bogotá, Colombia, and funded by Mennonite Central Committee, the Spanish edition includes stories and ideas from Latin America, where Mennonite churches are gaining interest in addressing the once-taboo issues of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

When The Climb, the latest film by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s World Wide Pictures, is released on DVD this summer, it will include The Father’s Love Letter. The six-minute narration video uses biblical passages and pictures to describe God’s love for humanity. The Climb is about two mountaineers who embark on a climbing expedition of the deadly Mt. Chicanagua in the Chilean Andes. Derrick Williams is a live-on-the-edge type who is teamed up with Ned Vaughn, a committed Christian whose cautious professionalism on climbs and quiet faith in God confront Derrick’s pride and self-reliance head-on. The two are thrown together to tackle not only the mountain, but some tough issues of life like taking responsibility, letting go of the past and receiving God’s grace and forgiveness.
